This thread will be for discussion of healing in the 25-man CA Raid Squad group. Other healers are encouraged to chime in, but the focus will be on the strategies that we will be using within this raid group.

I think the healing on the two new bosses has been somewhat off -- everyone knows how to heal but the strategy is lacking. As the healing leader, this is obviously my fault and I will start this thread by explicating new strategies for Festergut & Rotface.

Festergut --
Setup: 3 tank healers, 3 raid healers
Positioning: All healers will stand in melee range of Festergut, unless we do not have enough ranged to prevent Vile Gas from being cast on the melee (7 ranged is the lower limit)
Strat: I plan on having the 3 raid healers assigned to raid groups. For example, one healer may be assigned to the tank group, another to groups 2/3 and the third to 4/5. The healing should be roughly constant in each group due to the nature of the ticking DOT that is the major source of damage. Tank healers will spend all of the "2 inhale" and "3 inhale" phases spamming their largest heal and conserving mana during other phases. Cooldowns (Divine Sacrifice, Pain Suppression) will be used in conjunction with tank cooldowns during the two "3 inhale" phases. There will always be only two "3 inhale" phases due to the nature of the enrage timer.

Rotface:
Setup: 2 tank healers, 2 raid healers, 2 "injection" healers
Positioning: Most healers will stand with the DPS and dodge slime sprays in the usual way. I am considering having one or two healers stand out with the OT to heal both the OT and the people bringing their slimes over.
Strat: I have noticed from our logs that the overwhelming amount of deaths have been from 1) Injection DOT and 2) Radiation from the big ooze. We need dedicated healers for these people. I also plan on having the two tank healers make sure to run in the direction of the tank+Rotface when an Ooze Explosion occurs so that the tank can stay up during this hectic part of the fight.

Let's discuss, people!

Hoping someone would make a post like this, well anyway..

Since we haven't really given much tries for festergut, ill stick to the problems you listed for rotface, as they need to be addressed.

Here are some problems I did notice:

The circle/condom/nipple for whatever reason was being removed from Drasta, Idk if this was ever addressed, but quite a few times i saw drasta without the circle(w/e) over his head, I did see him or someone reapply it, but something is removing it, though DBM does not say it uses it, this may be one problem for people trying to find Drasta. Another problem is the dispels, although from the logs Phelix is doing a great job, it starts to become overwhelming for him during the poo poo explosion (because of range), and below 50%, (for more poo poo explosions and just the huge increase of needed heals, moving around, and disease injections.)

The assigning of healers need to be become a bit more mandatory, as my holy spec and my disc spec depend completely on the job I am doing. I cannot effectively heal the tanks as holy, nor can i heal the raid well as disc without just shield spamming away, which is far more effective when we have 2 disc priests.

Another problem is slime spray against the tank kiting the oozes, and anyone potentially running to drop off a ooze, we definitely need to make sure to keep these people up, and have the disease off the target, but also to make aware to the raid (someone), to stay away until he stops spraying, or letting the tank know to move.

The slimes are extremely buggy, and sometimes 2 big oozes are a result because oozes refuse to just merge together, (I would know, i sat there kiting 2 small oozes because they would not merge). But we need to adjust, throw a cool down on the kiting tank, throwing on a speed boost of some kind, or making sure he is not getting slowed down when he has to kite over the slime.

Not sure what encounter you are talking about for this, but when my 10 man did Rotface Circle was given to the person about to give birth to a slime.

I got into rotface, and if this is the case, I think we need to setup a new icon for Drasta next time we face Rotface.

usually I'm not very fond of this chick, but she has some valid points that are relevant to this thread

the interesting stuff starts at 2:30, with Festergut at 7:15 and Rotface at 8:25.

Definitely thinking we need to plan portals better for this. From what I've been reading, you can stack the portal buff over multiple portals if you're fast, and the buff can stack to 20+ times. Will be looking for more info over the weekend. But this means altering the strat so that the same people go into consecutive portals instead of alternating. Will probably assign 2 healers (if we have 7) to full time raid heals, and keep those 2 out of portals, while the other 5 go in as many as possible.

Edit: Sorry, "this" being the Dreamwalker fight of course.
